Rito is a brand launched by STYLEM CO., LTD., one of Japan’s largest wholesale companies that has carried its business in the textile field for more than 150 years.
It is directed by a textile designer, Ms.Miyako Shimakawa who has long been creating textiles for many luxury brands. She presents its first collection from 2016AW using textiles reflecting the latest trends showing her broad production experience from across the world.
Her collection takes special care in creating textiles; from spinning yarn, weaving, to dyeing, leads to a concern for realistic proportion and a constructed silhouette. Her clothes combine masculinity and femininity and are constructed by the concept of ‘adding mode while exploring luxury from within’ and it accentuates allurement of the garments from the shape with careful attachments of the fresh approaches.
Also, sourcing vintage garments focusing particular aesthetic beauty she uncovers and reworks it for sophisticated women who value the impressive look and design as well as how they feel when it’s worn.
In Rito’s new collection, she continues to explore unexpected relationships with shape, fabric, and color. Knits are layers of sheer cotton, silk and hand knits reveal experimental stitches and shapes. Cut and sew groups are created also in an original fabric and in constructed silhouette. Humorous elements and surprise embellishments accent the collection. Such items as trench coat and shirt enable techniques and masculine cuts to shape the female form.
